INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM GDYNIA ‘2005 GDYNIA, 22 - 23.09.2005

In 2005 the International Economic Forum Gdynia was said to be one of the most important and successful
economic events in Poland. The Forum brought together representatives of: Embassy - the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary - Mr Yuan Guisen and the Consul of the P.R.China in Gdańsk – Mr Xu Min; local authorities, diplomats, major Polish and regional companies, banks and financial institutions, as well as Chinese businessmen. That year’s Forum was divided into three thematic sessions: Financial Panel, Baltic Tourism Panel and Maritime Economy Panel. The leader of the Maritime Economy Panel was Mr Sławomir T. Kalicki, Inter Marine Sp. z o.o. The topic of Poland, Gdynia and Pomerania’s possibilities and scope of business co-operation with the People’s Republic of China was discussed during the Conference. The participation of such giants as Hutchison Port Holding represented by Mr Clemence C.F. Cheng, OOCL (Europe) represented by Mr Ted Wang, Chipolbrok represented by Mr Andrzej Karnabal and Mr Zhou Yinfu , Squire Sanders with its representative Ms Amy Sommers aroused genuine enthusiasm among participants of the Conference and therefore contributed to a real success of the Forum. Moreover, the people interested had an opportunity to take part in the discussion with the key representatives of Chinese diplomacy and business mentioned above, which was also the objective of the Conference.
